When we think of models, the ones that come to our mind are all skinny, slender ones. However, in the recent times, several plus sized models have stepped up to challenge stereotypes and promote body positivity and acceptance of all body types. One such model, who recently got signed to Calvin Klein, is Tabria Majors.
Rise to Fame
Tabria gained popularity after she started recreating Victoria Secret advertisements in a plus sized ways. Several of her social media posts encourage more visibility for plus sized models. Previously, she had worked for Walmart, Nike, Forever 21, Fashion Nova, Charlotte Rouse, Ashley Stewart, Ariana Pappell and was also spotted on the cover for Sports Illustrated.
Tabria is not afraid to be an advocate for plus sized models. She has used her platform for promoting women of all sizes, shapes and colours.
Calvin Klein had seen a controversial moment when it had signed Myla Dalbesio as a plus sized model when she was only a size ten.
Tabria Majors was naturally thrilled with her new deal with Calvin Klein. She had excitedly posted a picture of herself wearing a Calvin Klein swimsuit.
She is also set to have her photo on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and is thrilled about it. She was one of the six women who got selected via the swim search, and is the second plus sized model to be picked for it. The first plus sized woman to accomplish that was Ashley Graham.

Tabria has stated that she would love to see more women of colour and plus sized women like herself on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She hopes to serve as a role model to girls and inspire them to do what they want.
It is high time we see beyond shape and size and appreciate people of all body types. People like Tabria Majors are going a long way to help accomplish that. It would be great to see more achievements by the likes of Tabria, who has paved the way for other plus sized women to make their name in the modelling industry.
