We are all familiar with lemon and its potency as a natural remedy. It is used daily, word wide, to help with immune system deficiency, and it’s even used for teeth whitening. There is one more, less known use for lemon, and it has to do with beauty. In order to achieve that healthy, glowing, spot-free complexion that we all strife for, follow these simple recipes:
- Against acne
Squeeze some lemon juice into a small bowl, dab a cotton ball in it, and apply to the affected area. Leave the juice on for a few minutes, until it dries. After it has dried, rinse the area with water and dry it with a clean towel. Repeat this routing twice a day, ideally right after you wake up and just after going to bed, until the acne disappear.
- Face wash/cleanser
Slice a lemon like you would for tequila, grab one of the slices and rub on your face in smooth, round motions. Rub for several minutes, then rinse your face with water. Then apply the face mask, which you can make by combining rice flour, honey, and some lemon juice. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, then wash off with water.
- Against skin blemishes and spots
Take an egg and separate the egg white. To the egg white add two tablespoons of lemon juice, and whish until the mixture becomes thicker. Divide the mixture into three parts. Apply the first part of the mixture to the affected area, and leave on for a few minutes. Apply the second layer on top of the first one. Again, after waiting for few minutes for the second layer to harden, apply the third layer on top of it. Leave the three layers on for up to 15 minutes, then clean the area thoroughly with water, and dry out with a clean towel.
All these methods will leave your skin smooth, and with no acne, blemishes, or sun spots. However, before trying out any of the recipes, try applying some pure lemon juice to your face, in small amounts, in order to determine if it’s sensitive to it. If excessive redness appears, avoid using lemon and seek commercial products for sensitive skin instead.
