Beth Chapman, the 51-year-old star of the reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter had emergency surgery earlier this week at a hospital in Los Angeles.
Beth’s family found out that her cancer had returned following her being rushed into the surgery room on Tuesday this week.
In 2017, Beth had already undergone a 13-hour surgery to remove a tumour in her neck which was the primary cause of her throat cancer.
After being cancer-free for almost a year. Beth’s lawyer reported the unfortunate news that it has returned and that she had undergone an emergency operation to remove another cancerous tumour.
Beth is now talking about her condition and is asking fans to pray for her as she goes through this terrible illness.
Dog Chapman, Beth’s husband spoke to TMZ about his wife’s condition. “She is not doing good,” he told a cameraman. “I appreciate the question and please say a prayer.”
Dog was not even able to carry on talking about his wife as he was so choked up with sadness that Lyssa, Beth’s daughter, spoke up about her mother’s illness further.
“We are all so devastated. We love our mommy so much and thank you guys for being here,” she said. “We got such an amazing outpouring from fans and we just really appreciate it.”
Dog also spoke to Us about his wife’s surgery and discussed her journey so far.
“She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery [on Tuesday],” he revealed. “They cut a hole in her throat, so she can breathe; she can still talk. … [She’s] doing the best she can and remains incredibly strong.”
He later posted an update informing fans that surgeons were able to remove most of the throat cancer as Beth’s treatment continues due to concerns that it may spread to other parts of her body.
“They are doing a biopsy scan to check if it has spread,” Dog said. “Last time it didn’t spread at all, so we’re hoping the same thing.”
The couple who are known for their loving affection are more closer than ever as they fight this illness together.
“First thing when she woke up from the surgery [on Tuesday], she said, ‘Where’s the Dog?’” he shared. “And the nurse was confused, she said, ‘Did she bring her dog with her?’ And I said, ‘Yes ma’am.’”
“I’m here every moment I can be for her,” Dog said. “I’ve never had to go through anything like this in my entire life. I love my honey so much. I don’t know what I’m gonna do.”
We wish Beth a speedy recovery and hope she gets well soon!
