I make this for the diabetics in the family by using sugar free angel food cake, no sugar added crushed pineapple, sugar free pudding and sugar free coolwhip. Since even though it looks awesome with the angel food cake sliced like this, by the time you take out two or three slices out it is a mess so instead I use the trifle bowl and cube up the angel food cake then layer the cake and pudding mix.
It is much easier to serve that way and everybody loves it.Huge hit and everybody wants it for the family get togethers.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple in juice, undrained
1 pkg. (1 oz.) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Pudding
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping
1 pkg. (10 oz.) prepared angel food cake, cut horizontally into 3 layers
10 fresh strawberries
Mix pineapple and dry pudding mix in medium bowl with whisk until blended. Stir in COOL WHIP.
Stack cake layers on plate, filling layers and topping dessert with pudding mixture.
Refrigerate 1 hour. Top with berries just before serving.
